Ongoing Kwara teachers’ recruitment exercise a departure from the past – NUT
The Nigerian Union of Teachers Kwara state wing has commended the state government for the transparent and thorough manner with which it has conducted the ongoing recruitment of teachers for primary and secondary schools in the state.
In a statement jointly signed by the state chairman of the Union Comrade chief Olú Adewara and Acting Secretary Comrade Rasheed Mayaki and made available to newsmen in Ilorin, the NUT described the ongoing teachers recruitment as a departure from teachers recruitment in time past.
The union which expressed confidence that the new crop of teachers that will be employed at the end of the exercise will greatly improve the teaching profession in the state and education sector in line with the vision of the present administration.
The NUT however advised the state government to carry out a needs assessment of where teachers are greatly needed when the teachers are recruited in order not to defeat the main purpose of the recruitment exercise.
