Gunmen abduct Kaduna private university students
Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted some students during an attack on a private university in Kaduna state.
The attack and kidnap occurred on Tuesday night, according to the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan.
The affected institution, Green Field University, is located along the Kaduna–Abuka Highway in Chikun Local Government Area.
Established three years ago, it is the first private university in the state.
Eyewitnesses said the gunmen stormed the university and started shooting sporadically, before taking some of the students away.
Kaduna state has lately become a hotbed of kidnapping in Nigeria. On March 11th, they attacked the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization Afaka in the Igabi Local Government Area of the state and kidnapped 39 students.
Ten of them have been released, while the fate of the remaining ones still hangs in the balance.
