After a season in São Paulo, an immersive exhibition on the paintings of the Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh arrived in Brasília this Thursday (4). .According to the organizers of the event, around 350 works are presented that “come to life, appear and disappear, flow across multiple surfaces, projected on the floor and walls that engage in light, color and shapes to reveal flowers, cafes, landscapes “.
The experience features around 350 works by the artist. The exhibition uses projection technology to present works that have marked the painter’s career.
According to the organization, the objective is to take the public “inside” the painting. In São Paulo, the exhibition was seen by around 300,000 people.
I found this experience super immersive, you literally feel inside Van Gogh’s paintings. Apart from the stories that are told until [we] get to the screening room, which are already contextualizing his trajectory”, said Ana Carolina Valença, visitor to the exhibition.
Also according to the project organization, 40 projectors are used to project the images. The exhibition is located in a pavilion in the parking lot of Park Shopping.
The art show, which has already toured the United States and Canada, exhibits works such as A Noite Estrelada, Autorretrato and Terraço do Café at Praça do Fórum.
The exhibition will remain in the capital until October 30 and is open to the public from Monday to Sunday, from 10 am. Tickets are available on the event’s website.
Born in 1853 in Holland, Vincent van Gogh was a painter representing the Post-Impressionist movement. With around 900 paintings and 1,100 drawings, the artist produced works for ten years. Van Gogh also became one of the greatest influencers of expressionism and was important for the development of Brazilian artists.
