The University Of Saopaulo (USP) , College of Arts and Communication , Saopaulo , in its Annual Black Consciousness Events , takes to celebrate Chibu Emecheta , a Nigerian Writer and Sociologist who speaks within the realities of life.

One of Nígeria’s most celebrated writer who lived in the United Kingdom , Florence Onyebuchi “Buchi” Emecheta OBE (21 July 1944 – 25 January 2017) was a Nigerian-born novelist, based in the UK from 1962. She was the author of more than 20 books, including Second Class Citizen (1974), The Bride Price (1976), The Slave Girl (1977) and The Joys of Motherhood (1979).

The ECA (Escola de Comunicação e Artes ) University Of Saopaulo , in its Afro-Brazilian activities, will celebrate Chibu’s bestseller ( Second Class Citizen)

On Sunday , November 20th , 2022 , from 11 am to 12:30 pm – there will be a conversation circle about the book “Second Class Citizen”: written by Buchi Emecheta . The bestseller tells the story of Adah, who left Nigeria to live in London with the aim of conquering an independent life , far from the oppression imposed on women in her country, but she still faced racism, xenophobia and domestic violence in the diaspora
