Carnival college ended 9-year fast and returned to the top of carnival
A Mocidade Alegre surpassed the green spot and won its 11th carnival title in São Paulo this Tuesday, the 21st. The title came after a tight dispute and was only confirmed in the last note, making Mocidade reach the 270 possible points. The association’s president, Solange Cruz Bichara, tried to hold back her tears after the victory. “It was hitting the beam and now it’s gone”, she said, shortly before receiving the trophy from the hands of Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB), still on the track at the Anhembi Sambódromo.
