Brazil: Nigerian Artist And Writer , Adeyinka To Celebrate Ancestry In A Solo Exhibition
Nigerian-born artist and writer, Dr. Adeyinka Olaiya is set to celebrate his African ancestry in a mega solo exhibition in São Paulo, Brazil, starting this week. The exhibition, titled ” Alaseku , Ancestral Journeys,” will feature a collection of Olaiya’s paintings and mixed medias , showcasing his deep connection to his roots and heritage.
The exhibition, which will be held at the prestigious Centro Cultural Casa de Angola , São Paulo, will run for two weeks, from May 5th to May 25th , 2023. Olaiya’s works will be displayed in the Centro’s spacious galleries, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in his unique artistic vision
Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Olaiya is widely known for his evocative paintings and writings that explore the themes of identity, history, and culture. His works are deeply influenced by his experiences growing up in Nigeria, where he was exposed to a rich tapestry of cultural practices and traditions.
According to the Brazil based Artist , his art and writing are a way for him to connect with his African ancestry and to tell the stories of his people. “I see my art and writing as a bridge between the past, present, and future,” he said.

The “Alaseku ” exhibition will showcase a diverse range of Olaiya’s works, including paintings, sculptures, and installations.
