KWSG urges Youth Participation in NAIRS Innovation and Digital Transformation
The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to creating an enabling environment for youths in the state to thrive.
According to the Supervising Commissioner for the Ministry of Youth Development, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade, the State government has urged the youths to explore the Digital world, by registering and participating in the Nigeria Artificial Intelligence Research Scheme.
The Nigeria Artificial Intelligence Research Scheme is an initiative that aims to foster a vibrant and sustainable AI ecosystem in Nigeria by providing financial support and facilitating knowledge sharing and collaboration among individuals and organizations in the AI industry.
Hon. Yunusa Lade encouraged the youths to be active participants in the scheme, stressing that the government has already put in place measures that can help improve the technical know-how of youths in the digital world, such as the construction of the Visual Arts Centre, The Ilorin Innovation Hub, and The Kwara Sugar Film Factory, among others.
He stressed that the application opened via (airg.nitda.gov.ng/#) on the 13th of October and will close on the 15th of November, 2023.
“The state government is urging and encouraging our youths to be applicants and participants of the Nigeria Artificial Intelligence Research Scheme (NAIRS) which is an initiative of the Federal Government under the Ministry of Communication and Innovation Digital Economy.
The government has begun the art of improved technology by constructing the state-of-the-art Ilorin Innovation Hub, the International Conference Centre, the Kwara Visual Arts Centre, and The Kwara Sugar Film Factory, which is part of the administration’s strategic initiatives and is meant to reshape the state’s economy, offer job opportunities, empower the youths, and create an enhanced standard of living for all Kwarans,” he stated.
Hon. Yunusa Lade further noted that the scheme will help researchers in the AI world and allow them to explore further opportunities to deepen their work and build a sustainable AI ecosystem in Kwara and the country at large.
