A Night of Glamour as African Cultural Center Honors Influential Figures in Brazil

Sao Paulo, November 20, 2023 – The 9th Àşé Ìşéşe Awards brought radiance and pride to the Memorial Latino Americano auditorium, marking the celebration of Black Awareness Day in Brazil. Hosted by the African Cultural Center, the event acknowledged noteworthy individuals in Brazilian society for their significant contributions to the progress of Black Afro-Brazilians.

These esteemed awards transcended individuals, recognizing the efforts of traditionalists, groups, and organizations committed to enhancing the well-being of the Brazilian people. Notable among the recipients were the president and vice-president of the Nigeria Community in Brazil, honored for their outstanding contributions to society.

The night unfolded in grandeur as attendees, including Africans and guests, adorned themselves in exquisite African attire, thereby showcasing the cultural richness on a day dedicated to raising awareness of Afro-Brazilians in Brazil.

Oba (Ogboni) Adekunle Aderonmu, the founder of the ceremony, conveyed his congratulations, stating, “The African Cultural Center is committed to continuing its exemplary efforts towards the cause of humanity.
