Nigerian Yoruba traditionalist and author, Oba Adekunle Aderonmu, brought the richness of Yoruba philosophy to Brazilian youths through his newly launched book, Korikosun. A gathering of 55 students at the Sala de Leitura witnessed an interactive session, complete with Yoruba songs and folklores, led by Oba Adekunle Aderonmu alongside esteemed Brazilian literary figures like Heloisa Prieto and mediator Victor Scatolin.

The event, held on Wednesday, November 22nd, delved into the Afro-Brazilian history as part of the Dia da Consciência Negra, the Black Awareness Week in Brazil. Oba Aderonmu expressed immense satisfaction, stating, “Korikosun is a book that will further help to catch them young,” emphasizing the importance of introducing African philosophy to the younger generation.

In a retraction, Oba Aderonmu expressed gratitude to the event’s organizers, singling out Prof. Raberto Mange, Prof. Erica, Prof. Leda, Prof. Tathiany, and Prof. Edney as key contributors to the success of the occasion. The Ogboni lord aims to extend this cultural exchange initiative worldwide.
