Tinubu calls for more collaboration with state governments
Federal and State Governments must have the mutual responsibility of ensuring the country’s peace and stability.
President Bola Tinubu who stated this on Tuesday said it was necessary to foster rapid infrastructural development across the country.
Speaking during a meeting with the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) at his residence in Lagos State on Tuesday, the President said that the nation needs peace and stability.
He noted that the federal and sub-national governments of Nigeria have the mutual responsibility of ensuring the country’s peace and stability.
He said, “I want us to discard federal, state, or rural road classifications.
“We must regard development as a joint responsibility. Let us prioritise our children.
“The school feeding programme must return quickly, beginning from the local government to the state and federal governments.”
He reiterated his condemnation of the latest killings in Plateau State issuing furthering affirming his directive to security agencies to stop the carnage in Plateau State and intensify the pursuit of those responsible for the recent tragic events in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas.
President Tinubu further condoled with the victims, while he emphasized the sanctity of human life and called for a paradigm shift among those with contrary beliefs.
He cautioned the sections with contrary beliefs about the inevitable consequences of their actions.
