A Non-Governmental Organization – the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ugently address the resurgence and abduction of citizens of this Country for ransome by criminals operating across the Country.
Recalling the incident that affected Mansur Al-Kadriyyah in Abuja recently, where a whole family was abducted, the group maintained that it is mind-buggling that the eldest daughter of the family – a 400 Level student of a Nigerian University – Najeebah was killed over-the-weekend – living the balance of 5 victims in terrible danger of extermination by the kidnappers.
The group in a press statement released in Abuja and signed by its National Coordinator Mal. Ibrahim Abdullahi, called for immediate onslaught against the criminals, pointing-out that the trend portends great dangers not only to the family of the victims but to entire Nigerians and Nation’s economic development.
The group stated that innocent lives of all Nigerians continued to be at he risk of criminals due to inefficent and ineffective performance of Nigerian Security System; adding that the time was long-overdue to put a halt to the menace.
Referring specifically to the Mansur Kadriyyah Family where a grown-up daughter has been lost to the incident, the Group commended the Former Minister of Communication & Digital Economy Prof. Isa Ibrahim Pantami whose friend has donated a sum of Fifty Million Naira for the release of the victims of the kidnapping and called for intensive prayers for Almighty Allah to ‘touch the hehrts’ of the kidnappers to release the innocent victims without any further delay , now that the ransome has been provided by patriotic and well-meaning Nigerians.
The group also commended Ilorin Emirate Descendants’ Progressive Union (IEDPU) for its financial and material contributions in finding solutions to early release of the kidnapped victims – urging them not to relent their efforts.
On the decision of Federal Government not to pay ransome for kidnapped victims, the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria (MMWG) said such a policy can only work where security systems are working; pointing out that as long as security architecture failed to produce the required security in Nigeria, victims of such attacks would continue to free their loved ones with ransome payment.
The group appealed to the affected Kadriyyah Family based in Ilorin and all over the Country that the balance of their beloved ones under captivity would be released now that the ransome has been provided, and called on them to put their trust in Almighty Allah that this hard times will soon be over in their lives.
The group finally called on all spiritually-minded Nigerians to devote their time and energy to seeking forgiveness for evils being committed by Nigerians and seek for Allah’s return of peace, stability and progress to our beloved Country – Nigeria.
