The Bayelsa Judiciary in collaboration with the State’s Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Tuesday dedicated  2024 to God, at the judiciary complex.

 The dedication took place at the multi-door court, location in the premises of the Bayelsa Judiciary.

 The dedication event has been sustained for the past three years.

In her welcome address, the Bayelsa Chief Judge, Justice Matilda Ayemieye, commended CAN for coming up with such an idea which she said has been sustained for the past three years.

 She thanked the Chairman and members of CAN for coming up with this programme, adding that dedicate the year and lives of judiciary workers to God was imperative.

 She said that she will ensure that all work and clinch to what is good and shun what is evil, for the sake of God and mankind.

 The CJ, said all should do good in sight of all men, and not to take vengeance but allow God to do that on there behalf.

 In his sermon, Pastor Justice Tamadu Abasi, taking his Bible reading from (Hebrew 12 vs 1) which state: “wherefore seeing we also compasses about with so great a cloud of witness.

 “Let us lay aside every weight and the sin which doth easily beset us and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,” he said.

 He said that the glory of a book is the author, and that man was created independently the signature is in God a class of the foolish believe that there is no God.

 “The most difficult thing in life is focus, which is one the problems of man. Without faith and focus one may hardly succeed. When one remove his eyes from God he’s gone.

 “The closer you get to God the more your life will flourish, all you need to do is focus on God. everything in this world will be added to you,” he said.

 He urged the judiciary to trust and focus on God that is the only way forward for them to succeed, in this sinful world.

 On his part, the Chairman of the Bayelsa State chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Temekori Derikebamoh, expressed gratitude to CAN for putting together the event.

 He urged them to also extend it to other ministries agencies and parastatals, that it’s always good to start the year with God as one who watches over all men and their affairs.
