FG, CBN engage with World Bank Chief on devt agenda
The World Bank’s Managing Director of Operations, Anna Bjerde is being hosted in Nigeria for a pivotal two-day engagement in an unprecedented visit which began February 06, 2024.
The World Bank Chief is being hosted by the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria, and the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning to further the bank’s engagement with Nigeria on critical aspects of the country’s development agenda.
Bjerde is expected to shed light on the region’s ambitious developmental goals and discuss the role of enhanced International Development Association (IDA) resources in catapulting these nations towards robust growth, job creation, and sustainable development.
Speaking to journalists after deliberation the World Bank Chief says it will continue to work with Nigeria in her transformation economic policies.
The Minister of Finance, Wale Edun acknowledged the World Bank’s support for Nigeria in energy sector and also on the attempt to grow the country back on major economic recovery.
For the Minister Of Budget And Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu , Nigeria is embarking on the boldest economic reforms in developing world.
