NYSC DG commend Bayelsa Corps members on discipline,  pledges grants for entrepreneurship

The NYSC Director General, Brig-Gen, YD Ahmed on Friday, commended the 2024 Batch A stream I corps members undergoing orientation course in Bayelsa.

Ahmed describing them as a good example of  discipline and comportment needed to sustain the tempo of service to the nation.

According to Ahmed, from the reports made available to him by the management of the orientation camp in Bayelsa, the 2024 Batch A stream I orientation course A, corps members have displayed high level of  discipline and comportment.

He encouraged them to sustain the tempo throughout the service year.

Ahmed made this known during his working visit to the  Permanent Orientation camp in Boro camp in Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government area of Bayelsa.

He also commended them  on successful  completion of their studies from various higher institutions of learning and urged them to always obey all camp rules and regulations and actively  participate in  camp activities.

 Ahmed also encouraged them to maximise the opportunities  presented by Skills Acquisition and Entrprenual Department (SAED) of NYSC to achieve  self  reliance and become wealth creators.

He assured  them that brilliant business  proposals from them would attract  grants  from funding Institutions that   are partnering with NYSC.

 He encouraged  them to   learn skills that would  give them financial  freedom.

Ahmed advised the corp members not to request  for relocation  to avoid thwarting the purpose of God in sending them to Bayelsa. 

The Director-General, in his fatherly advise to corps  members urged them to pay strict attention to security and to follow all security tips given to them during lectures.

He urged them  to live in peace with their host communities and  respect their culture and traditions.

He further admonished them to continue to be law abiding and contributing their  quotas to nation building,

 He cautioned against involving in activities that would  portray the image of the scheme in bad light.

 He warned corps members against posting activities of the scheme in  social media. 

Earlier in her speech, the Dtate Coordinator, Mrs. Charity  Okpalifo welcomed DG and his entourage and  briefed him on the development and activities within the Permanent Orientation camp.

Highlights of the event  were presentation of cash gifts to corps members by the Director of Special Duties,  Mrs Bona Fasaki.

And donation of three cows to corps members by DG to celebrate  their graduation from their various higher institutions.
