Hajj 2024: FCT Board opens window for fresh applicants, asks them to pay N8.3m latest Wednesday
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has said there is still an opportunity for fresh applicants for this year’s Hajj.
They are however required to pay the sum of N8,254,464.74k latest by Wednesday to book for their seats to partake in the exercise.
Public Relations Officer of the Board,Muhammad Lawal Aliyu, stated this in a press statement on Monday.
Aliyu also said all intending pilgrims who have already paid the earlier announced hajj fare of N4,699,000 “to make additional payment of N1,918,032.91k on or before close of work on Wednesday 27th March 2024 to be able to perform the hajj through the Board this year.”
This, he said is in line with the latest directive by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Accordingly to the statement,
“The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abuja hereby inform its intending pilgrims that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announce an increment in this year’s Hajj fare.
“Accordingly, all intending pilgrims who have already paid the earlier announced hajj fare of N4,699,000 are to make additional payment of N1,918,032.91k on or before close of work on Wednesday 27th March 2024 to be able to perform the hajj through the Board this year.
“Similarly, fresh applicants can still pay the sum of N8,254,464.74k before the deadline to book for their seats to partake in the exercise.
“The Board advice those who wishes to withdraw their money to forward an application addressed to the Director of the FCT MPWB with their account details to get refund of the deposit or defer their trip to 2025 Hajj.
“The Board regrets all inconveniences the latest development may have caused.”
