Hajj 2024: Bauchi Holds Train-The-Trainers Workshop
Bauchi State Government on Saturday commenced the Hajj 2024 Train the trainers workshop organized for Local Government Hajj Officers, facilitators of Bita Centres, religious organisations and other Hajj stakeholders scheduled for Saturday 20th – Sunday 21st April, 2024.
Declaring the workshop Open on Saturday at Sheik Jafar Mahmood Adam Conference Hall, Gwallaga Jummuat Mosque Bauchi, the Secretary to the state Government (SSG) Barr. Ibrahim Mohammed Kasheem represented by the Permanent Secretary in his office, Alh. Shehu Yahya Jalam reitrated Government commitment to continue to set the pace for others by according a desired priority to Welfare of intending pilgrims.
He applauded Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad for his recent and quick respond towards alleviating the pilgrims financial burden, following the increased of the Hajj fare by N1,918,032.91 due to naira depreciation against the US Dollar.
He noted that the administration has paid the sum of about N1 Million for each intending pilgrims to argument what was expected from intending pilgrims by NAHCON, stressing that many have already gave up prior to the Governor’s intervention.
Alh. Shehu Yahya Jalam therefore called on the intending pilgrims to pray for the Governor, Peace and good future of Bauchi and country at large while in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In his keynote address the Commissioner Ministry of religious affairs and societal re orientation, Alh. Yakubu Hanza Darazo thanked the participants for their readiness to be trained and acknowledged the contribution of the facilitators at the Bita Centres over the years.
Alh. Yakubu Darazo also urged Hajj Affairs Officers to take advantage of the training which would help them to justify the confidence reposed in them by the Governor.
In their separate remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Pilgrims affairs Hon. Shehu Alh. Wadaji and the Chairman of the Board Alh. Nuru Adamu Jumba (Chiroman Bauchi). Acknowledged that Hajj 2024 has came with alot of changes from Saudi Arabia and NAHCON, expressed optimism that the workshop would leave no stone unturned in making the participants conversant of the development.
They advised the participants to listen attentively with a view to transmit an exactly what is acquired at the workshop.
In his welcome address, the Executive Secretary of the Board Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris who was represented by the Director Operation Comrade Sabiu Barau Ningi said the workshop was organized by the Board to enable Hajj stakeholders get first hand information on Hajj developmental changes.
Comrade Sabiu Barau therefore further called on the participants to ask relevant questions with a view to adequately impact the knowledge dawn to intending pilgrims.
