Breaking: Gov Fubara demolishes Rivers Assembly complex over face-off with Wike
Rivers State House of Assembly is currently being demolished.
ARISE NEWS is reporting the demolition which is believed to be at the instance of Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara who is currently locked in a battle with his erstwhile political godfather, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
The Shield Online recalls that 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly loyal Wike recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
There are fears within the camp of Fubara that the lawmakers may commence an impeachment process against the governor and the demolition of the Assembly complex is believed to be a pre-emptive move against that.
The Rivers State House of Assembly has a total of 32 members.
