Engr. Dayo Akinyemi donates projects to alma mater to mark 50th birthday
It was pay back time and celebration in Islamic High School, Orita- Basorun, Ibadan on Tuesday 7th November, 2023 at the commissioning of projects to mark 50th birthday anniversary of an alumnus, Engr. Dayo Akinyemi of the 1989 set.
The projects commissioned by the representative of the Hon. Commissioner for Education, L.I.E., Lukman Okesade included
60 pairs of Students Funiture ,10 Teachers’ Tables, 30 Teachers’ Chairs, 5 new laptops, 10 big black drums, 4 dozens of kettles, as well as repairs and installation of new accessories for 15 computers.
Two (2) newly renovated classrooms and one(1) Staff Room were also commissioned.
The cost of the projects was about N6 million Naira.
The celebrant further promised the provision of school uniform, bags, and dhoes for 25 promising students, as well as yearly scholarship awards for overall best students in each class.
He equally offered to provide credible mentoring links for Science Students to be able to complete with their counterparts through out the world.
Dignitaries at the event included the National President of the Old Students Association, Mr Lekan Popoola; immediate past National President, Professor Ishaq Omotosho; the National Secretary, Mr Lateef Lawal; the School Governing Board Chairman, Dr Ismaila Razaq; the School Principal, Mr Fasasi Abdullah and other members of the 1989 set.
The event took place at the school premises.
