Four Top SouthWest Military Officers, Nigeria Chief Of Army Staff, Attahiru, Others Die In Kaduna Air Mishap
At least, four SouthWest top Military officer were among the victims of the Kaduna Air crash, which claimed the life of the Chief of Genaral staff, Ibrahim Attahiru.
It had earlier been reported that Nigeria’s chief of army staff, Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru was killed in an air crash which occurred on Friday evening as the aircraft in which they were travelling crashed close to Kaduna Airport..
However, along with General Attahiru aboard the aircraft were Brigadier General Abdulkadir his Principal General Staff Officer (PGSO), Brigadier General Olayinka (Provost Marshal, Army), Brigadier General Kuliya (Director of Military Intelligence – DMI, Majors LA HAYAT and HAMZA, (security aides) Sargent GT Umar, (Orderly).
They were on an official trip to Kaduna State on Friday evening, when the air mishap occurred.
Among those that perished in the crash were the crew members, Flight Lieutenants TO Asaniyi and AA Olufade (Pilots), Sergeant Adesina and Aircraftman (ACM) Oyedepo.
The Nigerian Air Force had earlier in a statement confirmed the crash of its plane at Kaduna International Airport today.
The plane a Beechcraft 350 which carried chief of army staff Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru and 12 others his aides and crew members reportedly crashed on landing.
The plane exploded and burned, leaving the 12 occupants any chance of survival.

In a brief statement, Air Force director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet confirmed an crash occurred but has been much diplomatic in announcing the death of the Army Genaral.
It added:“The immediate cause of the crash is still being ascertained. More details to follow soon”, he claimed in a tweet.
