Government committed to fair treatment of Nigerian traders in Ghana-Adebayo

Nigeria’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo on Wednesday implore Nigerian traders living in Ghana to allow the Federal Government resolve the conflict with their Ghanaian brothers through peaceful and diplomatic means.

Adebayo made this call when he met with the President and representatives of the National Association of Nigerian Traders, and the Nigerian Union of Traders in Abuja on Wednesday.

Adebayo on his twitter handle stated: “Yesterday, I received the president & representatives of the National Association of Nigerian Traders and the Nigeria Union of Traders in Ghana at my office. We deliberated on how to resolve the #GhanaNigeria Traders impasse & the traders requested to be evacuated out of #Ghana;

We have been engaging the Ghanaian government on the trade issue and though unresolved, I implore our hardworking traders to allow the government. to tow the path of dialogue as we patiently anticipate a resolution. We stand with our traders and will continue to advocate for fairness”.
