More questions are being asked as The Nigeria security services on the order of an Abuja judge brought to court on Monday, only eight of 12 arrested Sunday Igboho associates. The victims were brought to the Court on Monday on the order of Justice of Obiora Egwuatu of the Abuja Federal High Court after DSS allowed the accused legal team access to them and only four were allowed to see the legal representatives last Friday. None of the twelve victims who escaped death from the Nigerian soldiers shooting and besieging of Sunday Igboho home on July 1, 2021, had never been sighted by either family members, the Media, or even their legal representatives, since their arrest over one month now.
The judge had put pressure on the DSS after causing a stir last Friday as they brought only three of the 13 member agitating groups to the view of their legal team last Friday. On Monday, Justice Obiora Egwuatu granted the applicants’ lawyer, Pelumi Olagbenjesi, permission to make amendments to the names in order to present the right names before the court.
The situation had caused a slight row in the court as only eight applicants were produced instead of twelve. Olajengbesi requested the names adjustment in order to present the right list of names. Monday’s proceedings had allayed some fears about eight of the agitators as four of them were allowed to see the lawyers with DSS, keeping back eight others in custody due to wrong names attached to them in the lists.
Olajengbesi, had led another lawyer to the office of the DSS on Friday after DSS had invited the accused lawyers to the 12 Yoruba Nation agitators.
An order g=had earlier been given by the Court for permission by the lawyers to the accused to grant access to the victims in preparation for Court appearance on Monday.
