JAMB organizes second phase Psychometrics training workshop for tertiary education lecturers
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has organised the second Psychometrics Training Workshop on Critical Assessment Competences for Tertiary Education Lecturers.
The training workshop, the second in a series, was held between 13th and 17th December, 2020, at the Anti-corruption Academy of Nigeria, Keffi, Nasarawa State.
The Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, declared the workshop open and urged participants, who were all experts in psychometrics, to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the training workshop to develop a template to be used to train those who are in the teaching profession but have no requisite psychometric knowledge. He commended the compendium already developed by the experts which he described as perfect.
In the course of the training, participants were taken through the contents of five training modules comprising Conceptual and Policy Issues in Assessment and Typology of Education Measurements. Other modules included Constructing Good Achievement Test, Issues of Quality and Confidence in Assessment and Administration of Test and Scoring. ·
