Radio Station Hijackers Are Hoodlums, Not Yoruba Nation Self-Determination Movement Members, Yoruba World Media Reacts.
Those who besieged the Radio stations are those Yorubas would call ebilendes (meaning, hunger has brought me here) and were at the stations as attention seekers looking for international money donors to sooth their hunger plights, thereby demonstrating their anger and disgust against the authority.
The Yoruba Nation World Media Organization International on Sunday morning reacted sharply to a dawn raid on an Ibadan city-based Radio Station, claiming the suspects who carried out the dawn visit are never genuine members of the Yoruba Nation self-determination Movement.
According to Mr. Fatai Ogunribido, the victims were hunger-struck youths who wanted to register their protest on matters concerning their own social life and situations in the present day Nigeria, where hopes are daily eluding Yoruba vibrant youths currently facing uncertain future.
According to Mr. Ogunribido, This is not the first time Yoruba self-determination would be so tagged as a bad movement. He made reference to a scenario last years when during an incidents in Lagos, a late meeting of some excited Yoruba youths celebrating their Yoruba nation emergence anticipation were disbanded by some military men and a Press release was touted around the Media that a soldier’s gun was seized, which was a blatant lie and an attempt to blackmail the self determination movement. Several propaganda efforts were made last year to tag the movement but without any impact of blacklisting which had been the intention of the authors. In our real world as Nigerians, how would it be possible to disarm a group of military men when others around him were armed? Mr. Ogunribido urged members of the public not to succumb to cheap blackmail against Yoruba self-determination efforts as our mission and vision are as intact as when it started about four years ago
Mr. Ogunribido said further that even though there is a group claiming to have received Yoruba Nation in a social media rhetorical illusions and outpouring, using sweet words as, occupation, recognition, reclamation, declaration, celebration and many more, such movement had been previously identified as hallucinators in a World of confused and lost of true mind. According to him, nobody has been taking the group very seriously.
“Yorubas as a well civilized race would never embark on any illegal means of achieving goal. Yorubas are always going through the channels of law and order, peaceful approaches and diplomacy, rather than embarking on illegal actions such as forceful engagements”, he continued. in a Press release on Sunday morning.
“Those who besieged the Radio stations are those Yorubas would call ebilendes (meaning, hunger has brought me here) and were at the stations as attention seekers looking for international money donors to sooth their hunger plights, thereby demonstrating their anger and disgust against the authority.“
What they did reminds one of the military era when some military rascals were taking over power from each other in personality and interest clashes, and then would hijacked a Radio station, and advance their government take over in dawn broadcasts.
An Ibadan city-based Radio Station early morning on Sunday hijacked a Radio station, pretending to be acting on behalf of Yoruba Nation self-determination movement.
The hoodlums arrived at the station at about 5 am, pretending that they wanted to make some inquiries about certain matters at the station, and took control of transmission and technical activities for about one hour before security experts intercepted them and arrested the culprits.
“They gained access to the station by pretending that they wanted to make some inquiries. When they entered, they told the people there that they wanted to air their views and they were given access.
A source said the suspects, acting under certain drug influences were looking uncoordinated and gained access to the broadcast department.

“They were there for about one hour before the police came to disrupt their plan. Normalcy has returned to the area and some of them were arrested.”
