Soyinka Herdsmen Attack; Family Speaks, Says There Was An InFiltration But No Harm
However, a respondent reacting to the scenario had warned: “We can not afford to take things for granted as right now as we are all in pains and agonies of Fulani Jihadists’ incursions into Yoruba land, killing, maiming, raping, and even feeding their animals with salted human flesh in Yorubaland, while the govt is maintaining its stance of looking away in their support
Professor Wole Soyinka was not armed in a reported attack this morning as family members have reacted to the News of his home being invaded by Fulani Herdsmen, claiming that the news that he was attacked had been slightly exaggerated.
A reliable source, quoting US-based Professor Omofolabi Ajayi( Nee Soyinka), Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka’s younger sister told London based aiinewsline.news that, although there were some skirmishes in front of Professor Wole Soyinka’s home as truly, a herdsman had wondered with his cow into the Professor’s land, which prompted the harsh action of the cows being seized by the professor, there were no arms let out.
An impromptu statement issued said the herdsman ran away as Professor Soyinka invited the Police to find the harders before his cows would be released.
The statement in full reads:” This is slightly exaggerated. Truly, a harder with his cows had wandered into Kongi’s land and he seized the cattle. The herder ran away and he called the Police to find the herder before he releases the animals”
Professor Wole Soyinka himself reacted: “We made some arrests, we drove them out and everything is under control”

He questioned: “How can we take this lightly when cow strayed into Soyinka’s land and we have been told about how the herders go about doing surveillance with body-cameras, and Professor Wole Soyinka only criticized the govt a few days ago, asking President Buhari to speak up if he was not in support of the Herdsmen murdering activities”.
He is of the opinion that Fulanis never walk or rear their cows alone as there could be some gang of others around the corner doing the surveillance for their Jihad sponsors.
Another observer described the playing down of the incident as diplomatically managing the crisis because of the personality involved and thinking of unforeseen national and international consequences of reprisals and revenge if the information should spread more. He queried:” Why would Police make an arrest if there were no issues of concern and why was there heavy Police presence around Soyinka’s home, why?
