We will do more for EBHS – EKOBA President vows as Three Landmark Projects were Commissioned

The Eko Boys’ High School old boys association, EKOBA has vowed to rededicate their efforts in revamping the status of their alma mater, Eko Boys’ High School Mushin Lagos.

The pledge was emphasized by the EKOBA National President, Ekorian Kayode Elliot at the commissioning of three projects embarked on by the Old students of the school. The EKOBA through some of his service clubs had embarked on some projects to support the Lagos State government in improving the standard of education in the school.

Commissioning the projects, the Lagos State commissioner for Basic and secondary education, Hon. Jamiu Tolani Alli-balogun commended the Old boys of Eko Boys’ High School for embarking on these projects, thanking them for aligning with the vision of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-olu.

On her part, the Tutor General/Permanent secretary, Lagos Education District VI, Dr. (Mrs) Yusuf Shareefah Adejoke praised EKOBA for the constant support being rendered to the school.

Speaking at the event, a former commissioner for Education and SSG to the Lagos State government during Gov. Lateef Jakande administration, who is also an old student of Eko Boys’ High School 1958 set, Ekorian Basorun Reuben Olorunfunmi hail EKOBA for ensuring Eko Boys’ High School name remains on top.

The EKOBA-NA(North America) with the support of other service clubs in Nigeria and across the world piloted the construction of a 500 seater, Rev. W.B Euba Memorial Hall, named in honour of the founder of the school.

Another service club, BODAS’70, also embarks on the conversion of the old dormitory to a four block of 2-bedroom flats for the principal and vice principal of the Junior and Senior School.

To further fortify the campus, and prevent intrusion into the school compound, especially during school hours, the EKOBA National body decided to embark on the remodeling of the school gates and provision of a decent gatehouse for the security personnel.

Overall, EKOBA has expended over N150m to put all these facilities in place, and are still planning to do more with the support of his Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu, who in his magnanimity approve the construction of 14 block of classroom on the campus.
