Yoruba Nation Steps In , Wants Kanu Released, Joins IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB) and the Yoruba self-determination leaders , on the 5th Nov. 2022 , asked the Government of Nigeria to release the IPOB leader , Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from Police custody.

The Yoruba Nation and the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB) , says Nnamdi Kanu has been imprisoned illegally by the Nigerian Security services , they said the Police disobeyed court rulings

According to the group , the Government of Nigeria has insisted in maintaining Nnamdi Kanu incarcerated , even after a Nigerian Appeal court has discharged and acquitted the freedom fighter.

The group referred to the international community over several illegal characters of the Nigerian government , it accused the Buhari government of unlawful arrests and misconducts against Nigerians seeking for self determination

In the press release , the group mentioned the unlawful invasion of Chief Sunday Adeyemo’s residence in Ibadan , Nígeria by men of the police authorities , the refusal of the Govt of Nigeria in obeying the sentence proffered by the High Court which summoned the Buhari government to compensate Chief Sunday Igboho with a sun of 20 billion Naira for damages against the unlawful invasion of his residence which claimed lives and properties .

The group , Yoruba nation and IPOB , further added: ”Sunday Adeyemo’s advocacy for Yoruba self-determination is not a crime under the law in Nigeria”, adding that Nigeria is used to unlawful manipulation of laws , especially when it involves Chief Sunday Adeyemo ( Aka Igboho )

The release , according to IPOB and Yoruba Nation leaders , signals the Nigerian government that both self determination entities are battling same cause , they demand that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu be released with immediate effect from the Police net , and Chief Sunday Adeyemo (aka Igboho ) be compensated for police illegal invasion of his residence and property damages .
